Go Mobile or Go Home

It’s not like we didn’t know this already, but Google has confirmed that mobile friendliness does affect search engine rankings. And now Google says that will be even more important.

Google’s Webmaster Central blog recently said, “Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

Basically, Google is signaling that it is time for companies and organization to "Go Mobile or Go Home." Our own research shows that our clients with response or mobile enabled websites are approaching or exceeding fifty percent mobile usage (Smartphone or tablet). It makes no sense to present half of your website's visitors with a website layout, navigation and content that is difficult to use and view on their preferred web enabled devices.
